So I bought my Costa Del Mar Hamlins. They are a great best friend, and they shouldbe for $250 + One simple wrong step will cost you. I was loading my kayak on top of our SUV and they slid off my head on to the grown and made a beautiful crack sound. As I looked at my lens, I noticed one was cracked.
Now what?! I reached out to Costa and the warranty does not cover basically anything. I had an option, I can mail them in and gamble that maybe they could find something wrong with them to replace the lens, but in most cases they will not. You have to pay $11 shipping fee to get your glasses back, and it required your credit card up front, they charge 1$ which was not told to me. I had to wait 2-3 weeks for my glasses to go throught the inspection process to get denied or approved. If it was denied they charge $90 for the lenses (They do not sell them in singles) So by now you feel as if you have been punched in the gut. I am sure there are some of you reading this who went through the same buyers remorse.
Well going forward I will teach you a little secret. Anywhere from $29.99 to $49.99 you can get easy replaceable lense that are polarized also from http://www.fuselenses.com/ - I am glad I stumbled upon them. I have easily replaced my lens and do not see a huge difference in the clarity while out on the water, so if you fall victim to the pay 40% of your original cost to replace your lens crowd, go check out http://www.fuselenses.com/
