Product Review: Unfair Lures
September 8, 2014

So I finally picked up some of these and love the action they have in the water. It is a word of mouth type lure, I think that is why I am drawn to it. No big box dealers, only found at local tackle shops, I think the rarity of it, is what gives the lures some type of diamond in the rough feel when you locate one at a bait shop. I am happy with them, here is a little more about the designer and the company....
About PAUL VAN REENEN Lure Designer
"I just love, love, love fishing and absolutely hate badly designed lures.Been fishing with them unhappily for too many years...NO MORE! I would love to share my designs and skills with you"
PAUL'S CURRENT SPECIES COUNTER: 516
Unfair Lures is a burning desire to put a 'better mouse trap' in your hands.
As a veteran Fly Angler with 348 species on 3 Continents, Paul has developed his skills as a distance caster, Fly-tyer and out of the box 'Fisho'.
Matching the hatch has always been his passion. It's all down to accuracy!
" Can you imagine a good Bow-hunter bringing his skills to the traditional rifle hunters? This is what the spin fishing industry needs!" says Paul."There is very little accuracy and plenty of generic 'stuff' out there"
Too numerous have been the occasions where Paul has seen refusals from fish. The problem is that the 'sonic' signatures of almost all lures are confusing.
"I am blessed with an ability that my father had.He could look at a situation or product or pretty much anything and in a short period see where 'they' might have gone wrong. When the available generic baits are put to the spotlight, you see that there has been little or no progress since the famous 'Bud' can with trebles on it.....new paint technique SURE, new packaging SURE, ....but mostly same old thing with the plastic lip."
